Spectacular EnduroCross at the Olympic Stadium on October 3rd

Montreal, August 19, 2009 - EnduroCross (EX) will make its Montreal
debut at the 32nd running of the Montreal Supermotocross Presented by
Coors Lights and Parts Canada on October 3 at the Olympic Stadium. One
of the most spectacular classes of Indoor Off-Road competition,
professional EnduroCross racing offers fans exciting non-stop action
in every area of the track. EnduroCross reaches speeds that are close
to conventional motocross (MX) racing on a supercross-type track that
includes trial-inspired settings with the winner pushing past the edge
to win. Usually run outdoors on a natural off-road course, EnduroCross
has now entered indoor stadiums where tracks are laid out to reproduce
outdoor conditions.

"The fact that Europeans had the bright idea of bringing the
EnduroCross experience to indoor stadiums is one of the best things
that could have ever happened to the sport," said Guy Giroux of
Saint-Jérôme, one of Quebec's top EnduroCross riders who has
previously competed in the popular motocross event at the Olympic
Stadium. "Our races are usually held in the backwoods far away from
the city with no easy fan access. Competing at the Olympic Stadium on
October 3 in front of a large crowd, will be very exciting. We are
going to give the cheering fans quite a show."

EnduroCross contestants will discover that the Montreal Supermotocross
event will be similar to what they encounter during an outdoors race
called The Special. Not as long as the 50-kilometer Canadian
Championship EX finale, it will have riders battling with gnarly
obstacles, loose boulders, puddles of water, logs, and much more.

"Guy Giroux is an EnduroCross devotee, and all the riders that share
the track with him during this exciting evening feel the same way. It
promises to be a tremendous experience for the fans. Not only is
EnduroCross the ultimate mind and body challenge, but it appears that
the riders are willing to go well above what fans expect for their
debut at the Montreal Supermotocross," noted Pierre Corbeil, promoter
of the event.

In EnduroCross competition, riders face extreme off-road impediments
on motorcycles that are almost identical to motocross bikes, except
that their suspensions are not as stiff, and their engines not as
powerful. Physically, according to Guy Giroux, EX riding requires a
high fitness level especially in the upper arm and legs, great cardio
and strong mental focus techniques.

"Riders set and maintain their own rhythm as they battle either bumps
or ride all out in corners. Each obstacle is unpredictable and breaks
the rhythm of the flow. It also requires extreme focusing skills,"
explained Giroux, a three-time Canadian champion who is currently
ninth overall in the Canadian Enduro Championship standings, led by
Bobby Prochnau from British-Columbia.

The introduction of EnduroCross to the Montreal Supermotocross is a
further testimony to the promoters ongoing commitment to introducing
new and innovative additions to their program.

The Montreal Supermotocross is one of the most popular events of the
year presented at the Olympic Stadium, drawing more than 50,000 fans
from Quebec, Eastern Ontario, and the bordering states of the USA.
More than 150 riders from Canada, the United States, and Europe will
participate in this year's competition.

The best seats in the house, as well as all reserved seating, are
currently on sale, and can be ordered online at Admission
(www.admission.com or by calling (514) 790-1245 or 1 800 361-4597).

Team Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing :: Press Release

Team Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing

August 17, 2009

Another Magical Year as Facciotti Dominates Walton to clinch his 2nd Championship while Klatt takes 2nd Overall in Walton and Series

Team Photo

Team Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing celebrated a decade of domination as team rider Colton Facciotti captured the coveted King of Walton title en route to his second consecutive MX-1 national championship at the Walton Trans-Can on August 16th, 2009. Facciotti’s victory gives the Blackfoot Racing organization a total of eight premier-class MX-1 Championships in ten years for a total of fourteen, and further cements the team’s status as Canada’s elite motocross team.

Facciotti wasn’t alone on the podium as his teammate Dusty Klatt put in a strong ride at the final round by taking the first moto win over a hard charging Colton and finishing second overall on the day and in the series. Klatt’s runner-up ride marks the fifth time the team has taken the top two spots in the MX-1 championship chase this year.

Blackfoot Motosports Vice-President and team owner Jason Mitchell was thrilled about his team’s 1-2 championship performance. “After 10 years and so many memorable championships this year’s was very special considering how the competition has stepped up their efforts and how our team responded. I cannot thank Colton and Dusty enough for their focus and commitment to our program as they definitely showed everyone this year that they were on another level. Behind every championship rider there is a championship team with sponsors and supporters that are second to none. This year was no different as each and every team member and our family of supporters contributed in achieving these great 1-2 results. I cannot say thank you enough for your efforts and support.”

MX-1 Podium

“This was a great season for me,” Colton explains. “This championship definitely came a little bit harder than last year as Dusty and Paul Carpenter were pushing really hard all year and made me elevate my game a little bit and kept me honest. It feels good to come out of it with the number one plate in my hand and to know that all the hard work this year has paid off. I’d like to give a big thanks to my mechanic Jeff and the all the Blackfoot boys for their hard work, my fiancée Jocelyn, my parents and all my supporters and fans for backing me up this year.”

Dusty was also upbeat about his results. “We could say that this season was solid for sure. Other than the mud race at Ste. Thecle I was pretty consistent all year and I managed to get a couple of moto wins and one overall win as well. The team did an amazing job and I’d like to thank my mechanic Andrew for keeping my YZ450F running strong at every round. Obviously I’d like to have got a few more wins in there but Colt was riding really well and he was definitely the better rider this year. Overall I’m happy we finished up 1-2 and I’m going to come back swinging next season for sure.”

Walton also saw the team on the MX-2 podium as Kyle Beaton holeshot the first moto on his Yamaha YZ250F and led all the way to the checkered flag. A fall on the first lap in moto two dropped him back to outside the top thirty but Kyle fought his way through the pack to finish sixth in the session and third overall for the second straight race. Beaton’s teammate Aron Harvey put in a solid 4-4 performance at Walton and held onto third overall for the season.

Colton FacciottiKyle Beaton

“It felt good to get another moto win,” said Kyle of his day at Walton. “I would have liked to have gotten one more in that last moto but I didn’t get the start I wanted however I did end up 3rd overall so it was a good day. The season obviously didn’t go the way I wanted with the wrist however I’ve got some momentum going into the Montreal Supercross in October; hopefully I can win that one for the team.”

The Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing team would like to thank all of our fantastic sponsors and supporters for standing by us during this season. Special thanks and congratulations to our entire staff: Team Owner Jason Mitchell / Managers Joe Skidd and Dean Thompson / Technicians Andrew McLean, Jeff Mason, Ken Thiessen, and Scott Donkersgoed / Technical Assistant Derek Sorkilmo / Transport Coordinator Kelly Zawrucha / Hospitality Coordinator Robert Skidd. The team will be back in action one more time this year at the Montreal Supercross on October 3rd, 2009.

There will be 3 laps in total. It’s not about having the fastest

Motocross Of Nations To Be Held In The US for 2010 at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park facility, just outside metro Denver

Youthstream is pleased to announce that the 2010 Red Bull FIM
Motocross of Nations, will be run at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park
facility, just outside metro Denver, in Lakewood, Colorado on
September 25 & 26.

Only three years after the amazing success of Budds Creek, Maryland,
that marked the last professional motocross appearance of the
legendary Ricky Carmichael, the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will
be back in the heartland of team USA, the winningest team of the last
two decades.

Over 30 countries will send their three best riders to compete for the
coveted ‘Chamberlain Trophy’ – the equivalent of ‘Olympic Gold’, as
the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations is also known as "The Olympics
of Motorcycling".

2010 will mark the 64th edition of this event, and this will be the
third time it’s ever been held in the USA, following this year’s
Franciacorta, Italy edition.

For this exciting return to the US soil Youthstream teams up with
Thunder Valley Promotions, the company widely recognized best
motocross organizer in the country for a strong and promising
partnership.

A statement from Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream:

“We are extremely proud to bring the prestigious Red Bull FIM
Motocross of Nations to the Denver area in 2010. In 2007, we brought
the event to Maryland, and it was one of the most successful
motorcycle races ever accomplished in the USA.

In 2008, we promised the entire world, both fans and industry, that we
would return the event to the USA on a regular basis. Now, in 2009, we
are glad to announce that we have fulfilled that goal, with the 2010
Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations being held in Lakewood, Colorado the
last weekend of September.

We have communicated with riders, teams, industry, and fans. We have
analyzed every aspect in choosing the proper venue – the
infrastructure, the track promoter, the hotel availability, things to
do in the city before & after the event, airport & access for fans
that will attend from all over the world. Colorado and Thunder Valley
Motocross meet all those standards and more.

I would like to thank both Mr. David Clabaugh, the owner of Thunder
Valley Motocross Park, and Youthstream USA General Manager Mr. Mario
Marini. Together, they have worked very hard to make this event a
reality. I would also like to thank the FIM and AMA for their support
in making this happen.

Together, we now have much work to do to make this the biggest & best
motocross event ever in the USA, and quite possibly the world.”

Dr. Wolfgang Srb, President of the FIM Motocross Commission (CMS) said:

“This is a win - win - win situation for everybody. The biggest and
most important Motocross race in the world returns to the USA, only a
few years after the successful event in Budds Creek. This is brilliant
news for the Motocross community and for all the fans.

“The Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations is the showcase of our sport
and deserves to be staged on the best venues. Thunder Valley Motocross
Park ranks around the top venues worldwide and will be a first class
facility. Congratulations to all who made this most important deal
possible!”

Terreblanche takes sword to a gunfight and carves out some points

Shannon Terreblanche logo

TERREBLANCHE TAKES SWORD TO A GUN FIGHT AND CARVES OUT SOME POINTS

15 AUGUST 2009

Motocross fans are as a whole, an attentive and knowledgeable lot. The dyed-in-the-wool fans know their favourite riders' every move, and when something changes,  it is not long before the fraternity is abuzz. When Shannon Terreblanche rocked up to the Belgian Championship event at Balen on a 250cc Suzuki last weekend, the eyebrows shot skyward. THe fans are used to seeing him on a 450cc Kawasaki, albeit a white one, suddenly on a smaller bike of a different brand. What gives?

We can remove some grist off the rumour mill straight off the bat. The change was done with the full blessing of the Sturm Racing team. IN investigating the South African's possible return to the MX2 class, the team collaborated with their long time friends at Pol motors, and Shannon was therefore Suzuki mounted for the event. Like always, he opted to ride in the Open INters class, and if ever there is a place  where a 250cc motorcycle is seriously outgunned as compared to the big brutes, it is in the deep sands of Balen.

Nevertheless, this race was an outing with a different objective, and Shannon got stuck in and rode out for the qualifying session. In a start field that looked for all the world like a GP line-up, he qualified 22nd, and  with the power deficit of his smaller machine, he knew that the would struggle off the starts on the sandy, uphill start drag.  Unfazed by all this, Shanter worked his way into the points scoring zone in race one until he visibly began to slow, casting quizzical looks at his bike. After a few laps, the bike was spluttering with more determination, and the South African retired from the race.

The South African battled off the start in race 2, and knowing that sand racing is often a matter of endurance, he stuck to his guns, but his efforts received scant reward as he finished in 21st position, just out of the points zone. The determination oozed out of him as he lined up for race 3, and straight away, he found the rhythm and settled into the points. The  bigger bikes may have had a power advantage, but he drew on his conditioning and brought the game little bike home in  seventeenth spot, reaching his goal of hauling in some points despite the power disadvantage he was sitting on.

Shanter's diary looks like that of a Hollywood plastic surgeon for the next few weeks. His next outing is at Gaildorf, Germany, for the next round of the German Masters series, and then he's back to Holland for the penultimate GP of the 2009 season at Lierop.

Dylan's Update: The final 2 Canadian Nationals + Photos

Sorry it's been a while since a few weeks since an update. The last
month has not gone my way too much. After blowing my 250F up at
Gopher's I decided to sit out the Quebec and New Brunswick rounds of
the nationals to get some money together to fix the bike and prepare
for Sand Del Lee. Unfortunately, a fluke mistake on the engine rebuild
in the way of a piston circlip (big doh!) caused the 250 motor to quit
again while I was breaking it in. This was the Thursday before Sand
Del Lee. My hopes of racing the 250 were done so I decided to just
load up the 450 and see what I could do.

I struggled at Sand Del Lee on the big bike and rode pretty tight
being my first national of the year I lined up for. I ended up going
28-24 which was pretty disappointing.
Walton this past weekend was just more disappointment. I felt ok but
with 15 guys within a second in lap times, I failed to qualify by a
fraction of a second.

It seems I haven't been able to find my groove since injurring my knee
back in May and I'm hoping to just do some fun races this fall
including the Baja Brawl Labour Day weekend to try and get my speed
back. Next will be to prepare for the Montreal SX in early October.

As for next year it's still a bit early to start thinking about but I
know that financially I will only be afford to run one class and I
also think it is time to focus on only one bike. I've been riding both
classes since I turned Pro in 2007 and it's time to make a change. At
this point I'm uncertain whether it will be the 250 or 450, but if any
of you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks for reading, There's a few photos from the weekend my Dad
snapped at Walton.
